What We Do

Four ways to get involved. Pick the level that works for you.

Our Project Teams

5 teams, 5 ways to build something real.

Early-stage prototypes and experimentation.

R&D Team is an innovation-focused group dedicated to exploring new engineering concepts, testing emerging technologies, and developing early-stage prototypes. Members collaborate on experimental projects, validate ideas through research and hands-on testing, and turn creative concepts into practical engineering solutions that can grow into future ASME initiatives.

Electric-assisted human-powered vehicle challenge.

E-HPVC (Electric Human-Powered Vehicle Challenge) is a multidisciplinary engineering project where students design and build electric-assisted human-powered vehicles for performance, efficiency, and safety. The team blends mechanical design, electrical systems, and real-world testing while collaborating closely to create innovative, rider focused solutions and compete against teams from other universities.

Design, build, and race a go-kart.

Go-Kart Team is a hands-on engineering project where students design, build, and test a drivable go-kart from the ground up. The team applies mechanical design, manufacturing, electronics, and safety principles while working collaboratively to create a high-performance vehicle and gain real-world engineering experience through iterative testing and competition.

Engineering solutions that outlast the semester.

The Sustainability team develops projects focused on renewable energy, resource efficiency, and campus impact turning environmental research into deployable engineering.

Combat robot design, build, and testing.

Battle Bots is a hands-on engineering team focused on designing, building, and testing combat robots that compete in controlled battle arenas. Members apply real-world mechanical, electrical, and software skills while working in teams to prototype durable systems, iterate under pressure, and push creative problem-solving to its limits.
